The Woman Who Clears the Path: Baroness Lidia Antunes on Healing, Alignment, and the Art of Transformation

There are people who arrive in a room and immediately shift something in the air. Baroness Lidia Antunes is one of them. A consciousness facilitator, energy therapist, author, and philanthropist, she has spent decades quietly transforming the lives of some of the world's most high-achieving people — business leaders, athletes, media personalities — and, equally, those who simply need to find their way back to themselves. Originally from Portugal and now based in London, she carries a lineage that stretches back to 1129 on her father's side and a matrilineal gift for healing that she has been aware of since childhood. Her book, Your Life in Alignment, distils her practice into something both accessible and profound, and her philanthropic project continues to extend her work to those who need it most. She is, in the most literal sense, a woman who has made it her life's mission to clear the path for others. We sat down with her to talk about gifts, calling, and what it really means to live the life you were meant for.

You work with CEOs, elite athletes, and people who simply feel lost — and give much of your time pro bono. Does being out of alignment look the same regardless of how much someone has?

No matter your status, background, or level of success, we all face challenges, hardships, and times when we feel misaligned. Pain, pressure, uncertainty, and personal struggles are part of the human experience. They do not discriminate between the wealthy, the famous, or the successful.

What often changes is not the struggle itself, but how openly people are willing or able to speak about it. Many individuals in high positions feel pressure to appear strong, composed, or in control at all times, so they keep their struggles private. Meanwhile, others may express their challenges more openly.

At the core, we are all navigating experiences that shape us, teach us, and ultimately contribute to our growth.

Most people arrive with a story about what's wrong in their lives. How often is that story actually the problem?

I would say that around 75% of the time, the story people initially bring is not the root of the problem but a symptom of something much deeper that has been carried within them for years. In many cases, those patterns are connected to childhood experiences, emotional wounds, limiting beliefs, unresolved trauma, or environments that shaped how they see themselves and the world around them.

Most people are consciously aware of what is happening in their lives today, whether it is relationship struggles, emotional disconnection, burnout, lack of purpose, anxiety, self-sabotage, or repeating unhealthy cycles. But often they are not yet aware of why these patterns keep repeating. The external situation changes, the people change, the environment changes, yet the emotional experience remains familiar because the root wound has not been fully addressed.

What I have observed is that unresolved pain tends to recreate itself in different forms until it is acknowledged, understood, and healed. People unconsciously attract situations, relationships, and experiences that mirror the internal patterns they still carry. Not because they are broken, but because the subconscious mind naturally operates from what is familiar, even when that familiarity is painful.

The moment someone becomes willing to go deeper and truly face the root cause, everything begins to shift. Their awareness expands, their emotional responses change, and they begin to see life through a different lens. Healing creates space for new choices, healthier boundaries, deeper self-worth, and a more conscious way of navigating life.

As the internal transformation happens, the external reality starts to reflect that change as well. Situations that once felt heavy, chaotic, or repetitive begin to lose their grip. People stop operating in survival mode and start moving through life with greater clarity, alignment, peace, and ease. That is when real transformation begins, not by simply changing the outside circumstances, but by healing what has been driving the pattern underneath it all.

Your Life in Alignment takes your work beyond the one-to-one for the first time. What were you finally ready to say — and why now?

I believe there is a divine timing for everything, and at this moment in my life, it felt right to share my work in a deeper, more accessible way. After more than 30 years of working closely with people from all walks of life, I began to notice recurring patterns in the struggles, emotions, and experiences many faced. No matter their background or level of success, so many people were searching for the same things: peace, clarity, healing, purpose, and a sense of alignment within themselves.

Over the years, I have learned valuable lessons, tools, and insights from both my professional work and life experiences. I reached a point where I realised that the guidance and teachings I had been sharing one-to-one could also help many others who may never reach out directly for support.

Not everyone feels comfortable asking for help openly. Some people carry their struggles silently, while others may not know where to begin. I created something that feels gentle, accessible, and supportive, allowing people to explore their healing and personal growth in their own time, at their own pace, and in a way that feels safe for them.

“Your Life in Alignment” was born from that intention. It is not just about offering guidance, but about creating awareness, helping people reconnect with themselves, and reminding them that they are not alone in what they are experiencing. Sometimes all a person needs is guidance, understanding, and the right tools to begin navigating life with more clarity, ease, and alignment.

A book stays in the world long after the conversation ends. Was there anything you wrote that you almost didn't?

For sure. At the beginning, when I started writing the book, I was very intentional about not making it overly spiritual. I wanted to keep it practical and grounded, thinking it would resonate with a wider audience. But as I continued writing, I realised something was missing. The message did not flow naturally, and the work’s deeper meaning did not fully come across as intended.

At one point, I had to pause and be honest with myself. I realised I was holding back an important part of who I am and how I truly understand healing, alignment, and transformation. The more I tried to separate the spiritual aspect from the message, the more disconnected the writing felt.

So I decided to start again, this time from a completely different place. I stopped trying to control how the message would be received and instead allowed myself to write openly, honestly, and from the heart. Once I did that, everything began to flow naturally. The words carried more depth, authenticity, and truth because they were finally aligned with my real voice and lived experience.

I think that was one of the biggest lessons for me through the process. Sometimes we hold back parts of ourselves out of fear of how others may perceive them, but the moment we allow ourselves to be fully authentic, the message reaches people in a much more powerful and meaningful way.

You carry a lineage of female healers on your mother's side and a noble heritage stretching back nearly a thousand years on your father's. How do you make sure all of that history propels you rather than defines you?

I see both as gifts, not definitions. Coming from a lineage of female healers on my mother’s side and a noble heritage on my father’s side has given me a deep sense of connection to the past, but I have always believed that who we are is ultimately defined by how we choose to live, serve, and evolve in the present.

I carry deep respect for the wisdom, strength, and resilience that came before me. The women in my family taught me the importance of intuition, compassion, healing, and understanding people on a deeper level. From my father’s lineage, I learned about responsibility, discipline, legacy, and the importance of carrying yourself with integrity. Those influences have shaped me, but I never wanted them to limit me or create an identity based solely on history or titles.

For me, heritage should inspire growth, not create separation or expectation. I do not believe we are here to live in the shadow of our ancestry, but rather to honour it by becoming the highest version of ourselves and using what we have inherited in a meaningful way.

What matters most to me is how I can use those experiences, teachings, and values to help others. If my background has given me anything valuable, it is a deeper understanding of human nature, responsibility, and service. But every lesson still had to be lived, learned, and embodied through my own journey.

At the end of the day, history may open certain doors of awareness, but it is our own choices, actions, and heart that determine who we truly become.
